Montreal, QC — February 4, 2025 — UniAction Films is proud to announce that it will present, promote, and organize discussion-based projections of the powerful feature film Chiennes de Faïence, about the emerging friendship between a native Quebecois and atheist woman, and another from immigrant background and Muslim faith.
UniAction Films, a branch of UniAction dedicated to cultural diplomacy and social engagement through cinema, will coordinate a series of public screenings and dialogue-based events across Canada in partnership with local communities, universities, women's organizations, and social impact leaders. These events will be designed to foster meaningful conversations on gender-based violence, survivor empowerment, and the collective responsibility to listen, believe, and support.
“Films like Chiennes de Faïence are essential tools in breaking the silence and creating space for truth,” said Thi Be Nguyen, Founder of UniAction.“By combining the emotional power of storytelling with the open exchange of ideas, we aim to move hearts, shift mindsets, and build solidarity.”
Each screening will be followed by moderated discussions with guests including the director, actors, subject-matter experts, and lived-experience advocates. The tour will prioritize accessibility and inclusion, ensuring that diverse communities—especially youth and marginalized voices—can participate in this urgent dialogue.
Through this initiative, UniAction Films continues its mission of harnessing the arts to confront social injustices and encourage positive change, while promoting cultural diplomacy rooted in empathy, equity, and action.
More information on the storyline, screening dates and locations will be released via UniAction’s news and Les Films de l'Hydre.
