Pointe-Claire, March 6, 2016 — UniAction is proud to announce a generous donation of $7,000 to West Island Community Shares, made possible through its successful Conferences & Passions fundraising event held on March 6, 2016, at the Pointe-Claire Curling Club.

The special event featured Sochi 2014 Olympic gold medalist Jennifer Jones, one of Canada’s most celebrated curlers, who captivated the audience with stories of perseverance, teamwork, and her journey to Olympic gold. Her presence brought inspiration and energy to an event dedicated to supporting local causes through meaningful engagement.

This initiative was part of UniAction’s ongoing mission to empower communities through cultural and social impact. The donation to West Island Community Shares will support over 40 local charities that provide critical services to children, youth, families, seniors, and people in need across the West Island.

“We believe in the strength of local communities and in the power of coming together to make a difference,” said Thi Be Nguyen, Founder of UniAction. “This event was not only an opportunity to hear from an extraordinary athlete like Jennifer Jones, but also a moment to give back and invest in the well-being of our neighbours. It shows that passion and compassion go hand in hand.”

UniAction extends heartfelt thanks to its generous sponsors, the Maytal and Michael Goodman Family, for their unwavering support and generosity, as well as to the Pointe-Claire Curling Club for graciously hosting the event and contributing to its success.

This memorable evening demonstrated the power of community, sport, and solidarity in driving positive change. UniAction looks forward to continuing to unite people through passion-driven events that leave a lasting impact locally and beyond.
