UniAction Celebrates Major Milestone as Senate of Canada Passes First Phase of Bill S-215 representing November as month of immigration for Canada

OTTAWA, CANADA — June 9, 2026 — UniAction proudly applauds the Senate of Canada on achieving a significant milestone: the successful adoption of the first phase of Bill S-215 on June 9, 2026. This crucial legislative advancement marks a transformative step forward for Canadian immigration and social policy.

Her tireless advocacy has been instrumental in bringing this vital initiative to the forefront of parliamentary debate. Furthermore, UniAction commends the Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology for their rigorous, thoughtful, and comprehensive review of the bill, demonstrating a profound commitment to human dignity and inclusive societal growth.  

As part of the legislative process, UniAction’s Founder, Thi Be Nguyen, was invited to present expert testimony before the Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology in Ottawa on March 26, 2026. Representing a critical voice among select witnesses, Ms. Nguyen drew upon her life story and UniAction’s deep community roots to emphasize the profound impact of this legislative framework.
