Montreal, July 1, 2020 — In a bold new initiative to amplify underrepresented voices and foster cultural understanding through the arts, UniAction is proud to announce the launch of the Social Impact Film and Art Festival—a platform dedicated to showcasing films, visual art, and creative works that drive social dialogue and transformation.

Set to debut in Montreal, the festival will celebrate the power of storytelling to bring awareness to pressing social issues such as migration, identity, human rights, environmental justice, and intergenerational memory. By spotlighting both emerging and established artists from Canada and around the world, the festival aims to spark meaningful conversations and inspire collective action.

“Art and film have the capacity to transcend borders and open our hearts to experiences we may not otherwise see or feel,” said Thi Be Nguyen, Founder of UniAction. “With this festival, we are creating a space where creativity becomes a force for empathy, justice, and unity.”

In addition to film screenings and art exhibitions, the Social Impact Film and Art Festival will include panel discussions, artist talks, educational workshops, and networking opportunities for creators, activists, students, and members of the public. A special youth section will also encourage the next generation to explore the role of art in social change.

The festival aligns with UniAction’s broader mission of promoting cultural diplomacy, equity, and international solidarity through storytelling and engagement. By using the arts as a soft power tool, the festival underscores UniAction’s commitment to building bridges between communities and encouraging intercultural dialogue in an increasingly divided world.

Details on festival dates, venue locations, and submission guidelines will be announced soon.

UniAction invites artists, filmmakers, and changemakers to join this movement—because stories matter, and together, we can create impact through action.
