Vietnam, July 1 to 7, 2017 — UniAction, together with its partners, embarked on an educational expedition called MISSION SCHOOL to Vietnam—an immersive journey aimed at deepening international understanding of the country’s history, resilience, and cultural evolution in the decades since the Vietnam War.
The journey included visits and dialogues with Vietnamese educational institutes and minority communities in the northern regions. Participants engaged with local students, teachers, scholars, and community members to learn about Vietnam’s social dynamics, economic growth, and cultural diversity.
The initiative reflects UniAction’s commitment to cultural diplomacy through learning, exchange, and reflection. The MISSION SCHOOL expedition explored how Vietnam has rebuilt, transformed, and asserted its identity in the 21st century, offering participants a chance to engage with locals that are motivated to contribute to Vietnam's social and economic development.
"This journey was not only about history—it was about heart," said Thi Be Nguyen, Founder of UniAction. "MISSION SCHOOL offered a crucial platform to shed light on another perspective of modern Vietnam—one of resilience, renewal, and pride—and to uncover its history through the eyes of the Vietnamese people themselves."
This marked UniAction’s first initiative dedicated to exploring Vietnam’s rich history spanning over 4,000 years—laying the foundation for future educational and cultural initiatives to deepen understanding and connection.
